Dr Sarah Brewer answers a number of commonly asked questions
Q: My baby has diarrhoea, should I worry?
A:
If
your baby develops vomiting and/or diarrhoea, it is important
to have him checked by your doctor. Tiny babies are at risk
of dehydration. Sometimes, special rehydrating fluids are
needed. It is important to continue trying to feed your baby
whilst he has diarrhoea - he will still absorb some goodness
from his feeds. Breast milk contains substances to help fight
the infection. Always ask your doctor for advice.
